Welcome to the DC Comics Art Academy, a series of art tutorials recorded at Comic-Cons throughout 2015 and featuring many of the gifted and unique artists working for DC today. This week saw the release of SUICIDERS: KINGS OF HELL.A. #1, the first issue of the new Vertigo miniseries from acclaimed writer and illustrator Lee Bermejo (We Are Robin, Before Watchmen), so it’s the perfect time to revisit his drawing session from San Diego Comic-Con. Bermejo demonstrates how he draws a character he’s known for—the Joker—from start to finish, sharing some of his penciling and inking techniques.

  1. Honestly, I do not care about the boot or the people around in the concention, I just want to see the artist while he draws, the editor responsible for this video is actually stupid.

  2. OHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhh. OHHHHHHH. I've always wanted stuff like this. Actual, established, DC artists providing tutorials. I have seen one or two by Jim Lee (who I love) but I want so many more. Please do more of this.

  3. What was he using to ink ? I know he said somehting about that pen and how he doesnt really use that only for conventions but he also says what he lieks to use to ink but my eng is bad and I didn't get it quite right can someone please tell me ? greets, and respect to lee bermejo and his talent.

  4. They should reverse the size of the two screens, so the main focus is the drawing, cause, that's what we're here for, not to see the person and host (which this video is missing which makes it sort of awkward)

  5. i wish someone there had asked a few more questions. Jeeze, I would have piced his brain the whole time if they would have let me.
